In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. In 2013, TEDx Rock Creek Park was held in the Old Town Theater in Alexandria. The theme of the event, "The Hero’s Journey", is a metaphor for what our life calls us to do to fulfill our purpose.

During the lunch break, attendees had the opportunity to further the conversation about their personal hero’s journey. Each person received a random Super Power card and took a moment to reflect with their group how to benefit from the super power.

What would this Super Power give you and to what end would you use it on your journey? (Hint: It will help you to use the phrases “it would give me…” and “so that I…” in your response.)

Everybody was welcome to trade their card with someone else, if they desired. This was a fun activity to meet other people and share ideas.

After lunch, it was time for attendees to release their Super Power card. Many attendees did not want to give them up.
